Dental Bonding: Conceal Imperfections in a Single Visit
Dr. Blanchard applies dental bonding to transform blemished teeth. Bonding provides a fast, affordable way to correct a variety of dental flaws, including:
- Cracks
- Discoloration
- Gaps
- Small areas of decay
- Stains
If you have any of these dental issues, you may be a good candidate for bonding.
How does bonding work?
After inspecting the tooth in question, Dr. Blanchard will tint composite resin (the material used in bonding) to match your natural tooth color. The dentist will roughen the outer layer of your tooth to remove a small amount of enamel, then apply a strong adhesive to help the resin adhere. After shaping the resin to fill cracks, close gaps, or change the contours of your tooth, Dr. Blanchard will use a laser-like device to cure the material.
How long does the bonding process take?
Dental bonding can be performed in a single visit. The procedure usually takes between one and two hours.
How long does bonding last?
Your bonded restoration may last up to ten years before needing to be repaired or replaced.
Is bonding covered by my dental insurance?
Most insurers cover some or most of the cost of bonding, especially for reconstructive rather than cosmetic purposes. Low- and no-interest payment plans are available through CareCredit, a leader in third-party patient financing. See the CareCredit website for details and to apply online.
