Traditional bridges, the most common type of bridge, span the gap left by missing teeth with prosthetics attached to crowned abutment teeth or dental implants.

How are dental bridges placed?
Dr. Blanchard designs and places dental bridges in as few as two appointments. First, the dentist will determine if you are a good candidate for a dental bridge. If you are, he’ll prepare your teeth by reshaping or reconstructing any badly decayed or damaged areas. Then, we’ll take a dental impression and send it to a lab to create a mold for your temporary bridge. At your second visit, the dentist will remove the temporary and place your permanent bridge, making adjustments, if any, for esthetics and comfort.

How long do dental bridges last?
Your dental bridge may last from 8 to 15 years, and perhaps longer if you maintain good oral hygiene and attend regular checkups and cleanings.

Are bridges covered by dental insurance?
