Hi Tech

The Latest Technology

One of the ways we invest in our patients is by investing in technology. In fact, we have some pretty nifty gizmos and gadgets that our patients appreciate a lot. Some improve our ability to see details and thus carry out our work more effectively. Others improve your comfort: providing you with a clear understanding of your dental health status, or simply helping you enjoy your visit here. Here is a short list of some of our "toys".

Digital X-rays

To improve your care we've invested in a new way of looking into your mouth—a procedure that's fast, and incredibly precise – digital x-rays. Digital x-rays use 50-90% less radiation than old-fashioned x-rays. What's even more amazing is that we get an image immediately that is large, clear, and accurate, right next to your chair…ready for discussion. Digital x-ray technology speeds and simplifies the diagnostic part of your treatment, and most importantly allows us to provide a much higher level of care.

Do you want to Zoom!™?

The Zoom! In-Office Whitening System is a revolutionary tooth whitening procedure. It's safe, effective and fast - very fast. In just over an hour, your teeth will be dramatically whiter. Zoom! Whitening is ideal for anyone looking for immediate results. The convenience of Zoom! in comparison to days of wearing trays and gradual whitening makes it the perfect choice for the busy individual.

Before ZOOM!

After ZOOM!

The Zoom! Whitening procedure is simple and painless. It begins with a short preparation to isolate your lips and gums. Then the proprietary Zoom! Whitening Gel is applied, which is activated by a specially designed light. Teeth typically become at least six to ten shades whiter, sometimes more. A five-minute fluoride treatment completes the procedure. You will be amazed with the results! In most cases, your teeth will get even whiter the first few days after the procedure. With proper care and an occasional touch-up at home, your whiter smile will sparkle for years.

Intra-Oral Camera

It used to be that when your dentist wanted to let you know what was going on inside your mouth, he or she took a look around and then verbally described what they saw. Perhaps you'd even get to look in a mirror, squinting and searching around, trying to understand what he was talking about. But now, thanks to a wonderful new technology called an intra-oral camera, you can relax in your chair while simultaneously observing a real-time movie of the inside of your mouth, magnified 35 times its normal size, on an adjacent computer monitor! Not only does this make it simple to see and understand what Dr. Blanchard is telling you, but it makes it simple for us to keep incredibly accurate records from one visit to the next. In fact, if you'd like a hard copy for yourself, we'll print one out for you to post on the fridge next to the snapshots of your kids. ;-)

Surgical Telescopes

When Dr. Blanchard works on your teeth, he'll most likely be wearing a funny-looking pair of glasses. These 'glasses' are actually surgical telescopes that allow him to see and evaluate intricate details as he works, making tiny but important adjustments to the procedure that would go unnoticed with the naked eye.

Fiber-Optic Headlight

Have you ever seen one of those coal miner's helmets with the light mounted on the top? Those helmets allowed miners to see into very dark places. And since Dr. Blanchard has to spend a good part of his time looking into very dark mouths, he wears a very similar kind of apparatus, involving a bit more advanced technology. With his fiber-optic headlight, Dr. Blanchard can observe the inside of your mouth without all those inconclusive shadows. The result? He gets a better view, and you get better care.

Windows-Based Software

We're really excited to be an actual beta test site for a new state-of-the-art Windows-based software program called "Practice Works". With this system, our computers can take a hold of a huge number of practice management details and streamline them for us. This means that we can spend more time with you in person, and let the computer efficiently and effectively handle appointment scheduling and electronic insurance claim filing. In fact, this system allows us to keep up with the personal details behind your records, so that we can serve you better—like letting us keep a digitized snapshot of you in our software, or giving us a way to attach electronic post-it notes to your appointments with special instructions or reminders.

Entertainment

We have a satellite receiver dedicated to each treatment room where you may watch whatever you choose or you can listen to headphones for music. We are also exploring other entertainment options, so please come back soon and see what we have to offer.
